The HTML del tag is used to define text in your document that has been deleted.
It can be used alongside the ins tag to markup text on your web page.
The benefit is that the deleted text still appears on your web page, vs just replacing it with new text, as it may help to keep it there as reference, but we want to be clear that it has changed.
There will be a strike through in the text, and on the back end a time and date can also be noted.
This is another popular tag still used quite a bit in 2020.
It is also available as a shortcut on the WordPress editor toolbar.
