HTML Script <script>

Usage

The script tag is used to execute javascript on your webpage.

Common uses are to execute the Google Analytics tracking script or the Facebook Pixel tracking script.

The script tag sits in the section and the example below shows what it would look like if you added the Google Analytics script in.

By placing it in the the script will get called every time a new webpage on your site is loaded, thus being able to capture analytics data from all pages on your website.

Code:

<!DOCTYPE html>

<html>

<head>

<link rel="stylesheet" href="/file/stylesheet.css">

<!-- Google Analytics -->
<script>
(function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){
(i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o),
m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m)
})(window,document,'script','https://www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js','ga');

ga('create', 'UA-XXXXX-Y', 'auto');
ga('send', 'pageview');
